Try Something New For Meal Time

Tired of the same ole’ same ole’ thing for dinner time. In my community your choices are mainly chicken or burgers. So for dinner time I or my husband try to change things up. Here are some recipes found on various websites that we have tried personally, along with some twist to add flavor to fit our family’s taste buds.

GARLIC TERIYAKI CHICKEN ON A BED 

OF RICE


  • 2 Teaspons of Minced Garlic
  • 2 Bags of Sucess Rice
  • 1 Teaspoon of honey
  • 1/2 Cup of Teriyaki Sauce
  • Seasoning of Choice
  • Combine honey and teriyaki sauce and warm in microwave. After seasoning chicken cover with teriyaki sauce and honey. Grease bottom of pan, place chicken in pan and bake at 325-350 degrees. When chicken begins to brown start cooking rice. 


Stuffed Meatloaf

 I gotta try this! Meatloaf made with stove top stuffing. Gets rave reviews and SUPER easy. 1 Pound Ground Meat 1 Egg 1 Box Stuffing Mix 1 Cup Water Mix everything together, smoosh it into a loaf pan, and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.


  • 1 Pound Ground Turkey
  • Favorite meat seasonings (applied to desired taste)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Box Stuffing Mix (Store brand or Stove Top)
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Teaspoon of Chopped Onions
Topping                                  
  • Your Favorite Barbeque Sauce
  • Ketchup

Mix barbeque sauce and ketchup into a bowl until desired taste is reached. Layer a small amount to the bottom of the dish.
Mix everything else together into a pan dish. Cover the top of the mixture with topping mix. Place in oven and bake at 340-350 degrees for about 35 to 45 minutes. It is very moist and flavorful.



Baked Loaded Fries

1 lb bag frozen fries (I prefer store brand, or whatever is on sale)
1 lb ground turkey
1/2 onion, diced
Green onions (If desired)
1 bell peppers, chopped
Taco seasoning packet
Jalapenos (If desired)
Tomatoes (If desired)

2 cups cheddar cheese


Place all ingredients onto fries in desired order. I prefer meat cheese and then other toppings.Place in oven on 350 to 45 minutes. 
Loaded Nacho Fries- these are insanely easy, cheesy and delicious!

We all get tired of eating the same ole' meals. My family doesn't eat out a lot, so I am always looking for new things to spruce up meal time. Here are some meals my family and I enjoy. Some are quick ,easy, and fun to make also. 


SNACKS
Good Morning!Mrs. Apple & Wormie - Making Mealtime Fun!!!Make mealtime fun with Flower Food!  Use a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut the cheese and place it on Ritz crackers.  Cut the celery for the stem and leaf and arrange to wow your little one...

BREAKFAST

French Toast Sticks
1 - cup powdered sugar
1/2 - cup of 2% milk (or which ever milk your family uses)
1/4 - cup great value (or any store brand) maple syrup
1  1/2 teaspoon vanilla
4 Dashes of cinnamon sugar (or just plain cinnamon will do)
10 - pieces of bread, sliced into three's (you can use Texas toast for this recipe to make sticks, or just plain sliced bread to make toast, I prefer plain bread for both , but it is completely up to you)
2-3tablespoon melted butter


Some people place there French toast in the oven to cook, if you want to take this route preheat oven to 350-400 degrees( depending on how fast your oven cooks, you may want to put it on a lower temperature).
I prefer to cook mine (sticks and toast )in a large skillet .
Which ever you choose to use be sure to spray your pan or skillet with non stick cooking spray.
In a bowl using a wire whisk, beat together the eggs, sugar, milk , maple syrup, vanilla , cinnamon and melted butter. Mix until well blended.  
Use a barbecue brush and cover the bread with the mixture, coating completely. Using the brush helps to avoid soaking the bread which is something I always did. Place each slice of bread on the baking 
sheet, or in pan.Bake 10 minutes and then remove from oven. Turn the slices over to toast other side. 
Return to oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until golden brown. Do the same for the skillet use . It is easier to get toast/sticks crisp or soft to taste using the skillet.
Remove from oven and serve warm. My family enjoys there covers with syrup , powders sugar and glazed pecans.

This recipe can be cute in half, and also be done with crescent rolls (BE SURE EXCLUDE EGGS). Unroll the crescent rolls , use the mixture described above and the. Brush method to cover the uncooked crescent rolls. Once fully cooked turn off oven lightly coat the top of the cinnamon rolls with leftover mixture and serve.

Stuffed Waffle
Pancake Mix (I use Aunt Jemima)
1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup of  ham chunks
1 sausage link (Rogerwood,or something similar)
Red,Orange, and Yellow bell peppers , cut into tiny slices(preferably use a food shredder),
Cooking Spray

This recipe is to make one stuffed waffle!!!
Cut up one link of sausage however you desire. I cut my sausage in half then I cut the halve in half again then cut those halves horizontally. Place skillet on stove , on 350 degrees.
Mix ham ,bell pepper,and sausage together. Spray skillet or pan with non stick cooking spray and put mixture in it. Make sure you stir mixture periodically, once sausage is done remove mixture.place it into a bowl, with shredded cheese.Turn on waffle maker, let warm.
Prepare a batch of pancake mix. Once the waffle maker is warm pour half of the mixture onto it. Be 
sure not to pour too much of the mixture, or it will overflow and take to long to cook. Do not close 
waffle maker. After 2 minutes (or when the the bottom of the mixture is half way done pour sausage 
mixture onto it.Then pour remainder of pancake mix on to the mixture close waffle maker. Once  waffle is done, remove cover with syrup and ENJOY.

LUNCH


MUFFIN CORNDOGS
Corn dog mini muffins





YOU WILL NEED:
Cupcake baking pan
Sweet cornbread mix
Package of hordogs
Cupcake/Muffin holders
DIRECTIONS
Prepare your cupcake pan by placing holders in pan
Use any brand of SWEET corn bread you prefer (I use Jiffy). Mix according to directions on package. Once mixed , pour into holders
Place hotdogs(any brand) in the center of the corn dogs.
Bake until bread is done

Serve however desired!



Oven Tacos

YOU WILL NEED:
1lb of ground turkey (chicken or beef)
Taco Box(which includes seasoning, and shells,sauce)
1/2 cup of Diced onions (food shredder would work great)
8oz Pack of shredded Cheese

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

In a large skillet brown ground beef and onion over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess liquid. 
Return to pan, add tomato sauce, and taco seasoning. Mix well and cook for a few minutes if mixture seems runny.

Spoon the taco meat mixture into the taco shells and place into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish , standing up. Sprinkle cheese over the top of the taco meat in each shell. Place into the oven and bake at 350 -400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the tacos are heated through.
Remove from the oven and top with any optional condiments for serving. 
I prefer guacamole , black olives,jalape├▒o peppers, diced to tomatoes, shredded lettuce and sour cream.

Hotdog Wrap Up

1 pack of hotdogs (any brand any kind)
8 slices of cheese
1 crescent roll 
Non stick cooking spray

Let oven warm at 325 to 350 degrees, spray baking sheet with non stick cooking spray. 
Unroll and  separate crescent rolls .Cut cheese into 3 vertical slices, and lay them sparingly on crescent rolls. Place hot dog at the bottom (pointed end) of the crescent roll and begin to roll, crescent roll and hot dog. Make sure you move up so most of the hotdog will be covered by the crescent roll.Place on baking sheet, place in oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool and serve. I like to eat these fun *hotdog rollers* as my son likes to call them with ketchup.
